ATG Construction has been the trusted finish partner for Central Ohio's commercial, industrial, healthcare, and hospitality projects since 1998. From specialty coatings to full interior and exterior paint scopes, we deliver clean schedules, code-compliant work, and finishes that hold up.
ATG Construction is a family-led, Columbus-based commercial painting and coatings company. For more than two decades, we've worked alongside general contractors, facility managers, architects, and owners across Central Ohio to deliver finishes that look right on day one and stay right for years after.
We staff projects with experienced, drug-tested crews, carry full commercial insurance, and run our work to your schedule — including nights, weekends, and phased occupied-space turnovers. Our shop is licensed for industrial coatings, healthcare-grade finishes, and VOC-restricted environments.
Comprehensive interior and exterior scopes for new construction, tenant build-outs, repaints, and ongoing facility maintenance.
Drywall, trim, doors, frames, ceilings, and exposed structure. Low-odor and low-VOC systems for occupied-space schedules in offices, healthcare, retail, and hospitality.
EIFS, stucco, masonry, CMU, metal panel, and pre-engineered building finishes. Power-washing, surface prep, caulking, and elastomeric or DTM coating systems built for Ohio weather.
Pre-cat epoxy, dry-fall, urethanes, intumescents, and multi-surface acrylics for warehouses, plants, kitchens, and back-of-house environments where standard paint won't hold.
Antimicrobial, scrubbable, and seamless coating systems specified for hospitals, surgical suites, clinics, and lab spaces. We work to infection-control and ICRA requirements.
Coordinated finish packages for new tenant fit-outs, lease turnovers, and refresh cycles. We sequence with drywall, electrical, and millwork to keep your move-in date.
Recurring touch-up, repaint, and coating maintenance contracts for property managers and multi-site operators across Central Ohio. One call, one invoice, predictable cycles.
Most jobs need more than a roller and a color. Here are the specialty systems we specify, source, and apply on a regular basis.
From a single office suite to a multi-building healthcare campus, we have current crews and active references in every sector below.
Class A towers, suites, and corporate HQs.

A look at the kind of work we do every day across Central Ohio — hospitality, healthcare, and corporate.
The practical things that matter when a finish contractor walks onto your job.
We sequence around drywall, MEP, and millwork — and we'll run nights, weekends, or phased shifts to keep your turnover date. No drama, no delay charges.
Full commercial general liability, workers' comp, and bondable for public work. Certificates of insurance issued same-day for GCs and owners.
We read the divisions, the manufacturer data sheets, and the substrate requirements. If a spec'd product is wrong for the substrate, we flag it before bid award.
Uniformed, background-checked, drug-screened painters who treat your jobsite — and your tenants — like the asset they are.
You'll talk directly to a project lead, not a call center. Daily updates, weekly look-aheads, and a single point of accountability from bid to punch.
Every project carries a written workmanship warranty in addition to the manufacturer's product warranty. If something fails inside the term, we come back and fix it.
If your question isn't here, call us at (380) 205-9274 — Chuck or Mindy will pick up.
Our sweet spot is commercial work between roughly $25,000 and $1.5 million in finish scope. That covers single-tenant fit-outs, multi-story repaints, full healthcare wings, restaurant build-outs, warehouse coating jobs, and ongoing facility maintenance programs.
We're also happy to look at smaller maintenance and touch-up work for repeat clients, and we partner up with vetted sister contractors on larger projects when the schedule calls for additional crews. The size of the job matters less than whether the schedule, scope, and expectations line up — call us and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
For most quoted work we can mobilize within 5–10 business days of a signed contract and a confirmed start date. For emergency repaints, water- or fire-damage refinishing, vandalism cleanup, and tenant-turnover work we have flex crews that can be onsite within 48 hours.
Lead time for material is typically the constraint, not labor — if you're working with a specified color or custom-tinted specialty coating, plan for 3–5 additional business days for product to ship in. Call us first; we'll tell you honestly whether we can hit your date or whether you should keep shopping.
Yes — a large share of our work is in occupied healthcare facilities, operating corporate offices, active hotels, tenanted retail, and live restaurants. We've built our process around not disrupting your business.
Tools we use to keep occupied spaces running: low-odor and zero-VOC paint systems, HEPA-filtered negative-pressure containment for healthcare work, dustless sanding equipment, after-hours and overnight shifts, phased area-by-area scheduling, and ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) protocols when working in or near patient-care environments. We coordinate directly with your facility manager or infection-control nurse before mobilizing.
Every ATG employee is a W-2 employee — we don't subcontract our painting labor to day-rate crews. Every painter is drug-screened, background-checked, and trained on our internal safety and quality standards.
For insurance, we carry full commercial general liability, commercial auto, and workers' compensation coverage with limits well above industry minimums. We're bondable for public, prevailing-wage, and school district work. Certificates of insurance, additional-insured endorsements, and W-9s are issued the same business day they're requested — just email Mindy.
Standard architectural paint — flat, eggshell, satin, or semi-gloss latex — is engineered for typical interior walls and ceilings on drywall, primed wood, and light-traffic environments. It's affordable, easy to touch up, and perfectly appropriate for most office and residential applications.
Specialty coatings are engineered for specific performance demands: scrubbable epoxies for hospital corridors and food-prep walls, chemical-resistant urethanes for labs and manufacturing, non-slip floor systems for warehouses and parking decks, dry-fall coatings for exposed-structure ceilings, elastomeric systems that flex with masonry, and intumescent paints that maintain structural fire ratings on exposed steel. The right choice depends on substrate, traffic, exposure, code requirements, and lifecycle expectations. We'll help spec the right system for the job — and tell you when standard paint will do the trick and save you money.
Prep is most of the job — and it's the part that determines whether a finish lasts five years or fifteen. Every ATG scope includes full surface preparation: power-washing exteriors, sanding and de-glossing interiors, patching nail holes and gouges, caulking gaps and joints, priming bare or repaired substrate, and substrate repair when we encounter rot, rust, or efflorescence.
If a substrate is failing in a way that requires another trade — drywall repair beyond patch, masonry tuckpointing, rust mitigation on structural steel — we'll flag it during walk-through and either price it in or coordinate the right specialist before we start painting. We don't paint over problems.
Yes. We work directly with Sherwin-Williams, PPG, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams ProIndustrial, Tnemec, Rust-Oleum, and most major commercial coating manufacturers. We can match Pantone, RAL, and corporate brand-standard colors, and we maintain accounts with all major suppliers in Central Ohio for fast material turnaround.
If a product is specified by name in your construction documents, we'll source it as-specified. If we believe a substitution would perform better for the substrate or save the project meaningful time or budget without compromising performance, we'll submit it through the proper RFI/submittal process for the architect and owner to approve — never on our own.
Yes. Every ATG project carries a written workmanship warranty — typically two years from substantial completion for standard architectural paint, and one to five years for specialty coating systems depending on the product and exposure. The workmanship warranty is in addition to whatever product warranty the manufacturer extends, which on premium commercial systems can run 10–25 years.
If a coating fails due to our application — peeling, blistering, premature wear, adhesion failure — within the warranty term, we come back and correct it at no cost. The warranty is documented in your project closeout package along with product data sheets, color formulas for future touch-up, and as-built color schedules.
ATG Construction is based in Columbus, Ohio (43209) and serves the full Central Ohio region. Our primary service area includes Franklin, Delaware, Fairfield, Licking, Madison, Pickaway, Union, and Morrow counties — covering Columbus, Dublin, Westerville, Worthington, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Grove City, New Albany, Gahanna, Reynoldsburg, Pickerington, Lancaster, Newark, Marysville, Powell, and the surrounding metro.
We travel further for the right project — especially for multi-site clients we already serve in Central Ohio, public-sector work, and large commercial projects in Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, and Toledo. Call us with your address and we'll let you know.
Most of our work is bid as a lump-sum (fixed price) based on a defined scope, drawings, and a site walk. We break the proposal down by area or scope line so you can see exactly what's included — prep, prime, finish coats, materials, labor, equipment, containment, and any cleanup or punch.
For maintenance contracts, recurring touch-up programs, and time-and-materials work we offer hourly rates with a not-to-exceed cap. For prevailing-wage and public work we bid per applicable wage scale. We're transparent about allowances, exclusions, and assumptions — there shouldn't be surprises at change-order time.
Yes. ATG is an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm under the RRP (Renovation, Repair, and Painting) Rule. For commercial buildings constructed before 1978 — common in downtown Columbus, German Village, the Short North, and older suburban districts — we test suspect surfaces before disturbing them and follow full lead-safe work practices when lead-based paint is present.
That includes containment, HEPA vacuuming, wet methods, and certified-renovator supervision. Documentation goes into your project closeout package for facility compliance records.
Yes. We routinely work on LEED-pursuing and WELL-pursuing projects and provide the documentation needed for relevant credits — primarily low-emitting materials (LEED v4 EQ Credit) and the air-quality requirements in WELL. All major paint manufacturers we partner with publish current GREENGUARD Gold, SCS Indoor Advantage Gold, or equivalent third-party certifications, and we'll submit product data sheets, MSDSs, and VOC content statements to your sustainability consultant.
Exterior coatings have manufacturer-specified application windows for temperature, humidity, dew point, and substrate moisture content. If conditions fall outside spec, we stop — applying outside the window voids the product warranty and shortens the life of the finish.
We monitor forecasts daily during active exterior work and communicate schedule shifts to the owner and GC as soon as we know. Our crews are cross-trained so weather days can typically be reassigned to interior work without sending people home or padding your schedule.
Yes. In addition to paint and coatings, our crews are trained in commercial wallcovering installation (Type II vinyl, Type III heavy-duty vinyl, digitally printed murals, acoustical wallcovering), Level 5 smooth-wall drywall finishing for high-end gallery and corporate spaces, faux and decorative finishes, and stained or clear-coated wood and metal systems.
For large wallcovering scopes we typically partner with a specialty installer we've worked with for years to keep quality and pace consistent.
